What's In Your Cup?

How do you fill your cup? 

Our metaphorical cup is filled daily by the choices we make.  What will you choose to listen to? What will you choose to watch? Who will you choose to converse with? What thoughts will you choose to ruminate on in your mind? 


I recently heard the analogy of a cup being filled and then spilling when bumped.  The cup was compared to our lives.  What spilled out of the cup was compared to what we fill our lives with.  Simply put, whatever beverage is in the cup will come spilling out.


Sometimes, we experience smooth sailing in life, but sooner or later, something will come along to bump, jostle, or jolt you hard enough to make you spill your cup. Unfortunately, we usually end up spilling it onto someone else. 


What do you want to spill out onto others when life rocks you off balance?  Grace, peace, and humility? Or anger, bitterness, and envy?


What is spilled out is determined by what is poured in.


"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." Philippians 4:8:
